SACRED F.A.Q.

Q1. What are raid times?
A1. Monday-Thursday 5:30-9:30 server time (Pacific standard)

Q2. How is loot handled?
A2. We use a DKP system that rewards consistent raiders but modified so that new members have a good chance at loot. The full rules given at the bottom of this page.

Q3. What does my rank mean?
A3. Ranks are tied to your status as a raider. Higher rank means higher chance to raid and to get loot, but also requires a level of attendance and performance much higher than other ranks. The full list of ranks are:

Guild Master: Aside from the mundane management issues of setting the bank up etc, is really no different than:
Officer: We do not have 'class officers', but rather a handful of people who are directly responsible for raid invites, group assignments, recruiting, and the bank. In terms of DKP they have no special privileges, and are on the same level as Core Raiders.
Core: A member of the raiding core. These people have exceptional attendance and raid performance. For the purposes of DKP, the GM, Officers, and Core are treated the same.
Backup: A capable raider who cannot attend raids as often, or have a class/spec that is oversubscribed in the Core. It is also temporary stop for initiates who pass the trial and are on track to make the core.
Member : A member is a non-raiding rank. Usually reserved for very casual players or initiates who fail the trial period but are still a good fit to the guild.
FnF: (Friends and Family) This is a non-raiding position.
Initiate : This is the entry-point for most new raiders. Initiates have no loot privileges until they prove themselves in a raid environment and are promoted. The initiate period can last up to 2-3 weeks depending how often they get in a raid.

Two other notable ranks:
Consultants : It is for alts of officers, and other high ranking players. They have access to officer chat.
Old School: The same as 'member', except these players are old school founders or members of the guild.

SPECIAL NOTE: The main raiding team consists of Officers and Core. These people need to be at raids in order not to suffer the DKP decay as explained below. Backups are not subject to DKP decay, and don't have to be online at raid times.

Q4. Can I request an item from the bank?
A. Post your request in the BANK/DKP forum and the officer in charge will approve it or not depending on the item and your status.

Q5. Does the bank pay for repairs and raiding materials?
A. Yes but in a limited fashion. For farmed content you are expected to carry your own expenses, but for progression raids the bank will help. After major accomplishments (i.e. server firsts, etc), the bank has been known to mail out 1k gold to all raiders.

Q6. What are the DKP Rules?
A. You will find below the detailed ruleset we plan to use for WotLK 3.2+

Requirements
1. Core raiders should be penalized (via decay) for missing raids unless the circumstance is justified.
2. System should even out the playing field for new recruits.
3. System should encourage geared players sitting for new recruits and not incur a penalty.
4. Vet/Officer rank should be rewarded.

Solution
1. System will have different DKP pools for different zone types, and DKP will be decayed.
2. DKP pools will be created for Uldiar, Easy Mode TotC, and Hardmode TotC.
3. Each pool is independent of the other
4. Decay will be simply a straight wipe of raids older than 2 months. items won, raids attended, all go away.

Specific Implementation
1. Definition of 'spec' based gear
a) MAINSPEC loot is that which benefits directly the role of a raider to do their job IN A RAID.
b) OFFSPEC loot is that which does not.
c) In general someone rolling on mainspec loot has priority over offspec uses, but there are caveats below.

2. Loot priority according to rank
a) Officer and Core are treated equally and have priority over everyone for MAINSPEC loot, regardless of DKP.
b) Backups have priority over initiates for MAINSPEC loot, regardless of DKP.
c) Everyone else is treated at the discretion of the raid leader, though rules will be clear before the raid.
d) Officers/Core (but not Backup) have priority over others for OFFSPEC loot as well, even if the loot is MAINSPEC for the lower ranked player. This is not common though. most will pass.
e) Mains are always > alts, regardless of rank.

3. Item costs.
a) Everything is 15 dkp, except 2H weapons, which are 30.
b) No penalty for not having the tier piece before.
b) OFFSPEC loot does not cost DKP, but rather 75 gold for the bank.

4. DKP earned per boss.
a) Ulduar bosses give 10 dkp. Yogg-Saron is 20. There is a 50% Bonus for hard mode (15/30 dkp)
b) Bosses with only a few kills will be double dkp unless trivial. This lasts only a few kills though.
c) New boss kill is worth double dkp unless trivial

5. Opening of a new tier dungeon
a) When a new tier dungeon is opened, a fraction of the TOTAL EARNED dkp from the instance before (minus whatever was decayed) will be used as the starting level for the new teir. This encourages people to raid older content.
b) Decay is applied to ALL tiers. i.e. if you stop raiding BT, your sunwell dkp will be decayed.

6. Rolling rules
a) Assuming equal rank people (i.e. see rule 2), highest dkp wins except
b) When 2 equal rank people have dkp within 5 of each other, they roll their DKP value TIMES TEN to determine winner

7. Late to raids
We will implement a penalty for core raiders that are not ready to raid on time.
a) Initially a warning will be given.
b) Repeat offenders will incur a stiff DKP penalty.
c) Habitual offenders will be reduced in rank.
d) These do not apply to raiders who give advance warning and have good reason for being late.
We just need to know so we can plan the raid accordingly.

8. Standby raiders and DKP
Officers and Core are awarded DKP for a boss kill if they are not present for it under the following conditions:
a) They are online, in the raid, raid ready, and sitting for someone else.
The purpose of this is to encourage training of new people and rotating oversubscribed classes.
b) This does NOT apply if the officer or Core was not in the raid at the start of the night.

9. Dual speccing characters.
In WotLK we imagine a few people taking dual roles in raids depending on the circumstances.
Here are the conditions and benefits:
a) Only a handful of people will be identified as official sacred dual-spec raiders. These people have a command of their
class above most others, and an excellent raid attendance record.
b) For these people, both specs are considered MAIN and are not subject to the mainspec > offspec rule.
c) The standard for these people will be high given the nature of the extra loot they can obtain more easily.

10. Transfer of DKP
a) DKP will not be transferable between characters under ANY circumstances.

11. Override
Officer council retains the right to override the rules when deemed necessary. The majority or the time this will be to gear a player needed for progression, though can also be used to even out inequities in loot distribution.

12. Technical issues
a) attendance will be checked weekly. If someone falls below 50% attendance for the 30 days prior to the check, they incur a DKP penalty (exact amount TBD).
b) This only applies to Officers and Core.
